The next stage of the build - the fresh water test! Since it seems like the tank has been sitting empty forever even a fresh water test is a little exciting. Over the last several days I've gotten the plumbing done, the sump in place, some basic rock-scaping done and some sand added (the main reason the tank looks a little cloudy). Here are a couple of close ups of the rockscape (I want to keep the open feel of the tank, but as I move corals over some additional rock will be added):

Although I only have one of my vortech pumps on the tank I think I am getting some fairly good flow:

Here are some "below the tank" photos (I did have a little leak at first with one of the bulk heads, but a little elbow grease and it was fixed):

Now for the sump. Like I mentioned on previous posts the sump is located in the basement:

As part of the water test I hooked up both Bulkreef Supple filters and the skimmer. The return pump is running everything. In the future I will probably get a separate pump to run the skimmer; mainly to make sure I am getting a constant GPH through the sump. The pump in the middle section of the sump is just there to help me mix in the salt; when I buy more salt
! I'm also using one of the DJ power strips to plug everything in to. Once I get further along in the build all the wires will be hidden. Last two photos showing the skimmer and the power strip:
