Ok, a little disclosure, I'm not really a big baseball fan.  With that being said though I will be the first to admit that the Florida Marlins are doing something pretty cool that would make me want to take in a game.  According to an MLB article the Marlins are incorporating two huge saltwater aquariums in to the design of their new ball field.  The aquariums, built by Living Color Enterprises, Inc. will be on either side of home plate.  One aquarium will measure 34 feet long and 36 inches tall for a total of 600 gallons.  The other aquarium will also be 36 inches tall but slightly shorter at 24 feet; at 450 gallons though I'm sure it will still be something to see!

The article also mentions that the tanks will be protected with sheets of Lexan in front and in back of the 1.5 inch acrylic viewing panels.  Unfortunately the article doesn't give much more information about the aquariums.  I know I would be very interested to see how they plan on taking care of the maintenance and filtration for the tanks as well as what they intend to keep in the aquariums.  I guess until the stadium opens in 2012 we won't get some of the details on the tanks.
