On Sunday, May 29th, 2011 the Nebraska Marine Society President Greg Bumpus announced that the marine society is calling it quits in the following post:
Last week I posted that the club needs to fill Board of Director positions as well as seeking a new webmaster, and help to plan and operate the frag swap later in the year. We have had zero replies to the post, zero inquiries about the positions, and zero responses to help out. The club cannot and will not exist without support. It is obvious that another site is preferred to this one. There are no longer any discussions here, only a couple of classified ads. So, due to a lack of participation, NMS will be shutting down. There will be no more meetings, no more club discounts at LFS's, and no Coralacopia.
The website will be available through the end of June. At that time it will become read only. The web hosting will not be renewed in October and thus will take the website off of the net at that time.
According to the NMS web site they are no longer accepting any new membership:

The Nebraska Marine Society has had a couple of up and down years with several different board members resigning and, on the up side, a successful coral frag swap called "Coralacopia." In the end it appears that the club will cease any club activities and the web site will be turned off once the web service expires.
