TOPIC: behind the scene at Baltimore Natl Aquarium

behind the scene at Baltimore Natl Aquarium 2 years 2 weeks ago #5608

They had a window that showed some of their plumbing and pumps for the systems. Thought it was pretty cool. Im sure our zoo has some similar stuff but I have never seen it (hint, hint) ;) Anyways enjoy the pic

IMO, large tank life support systems are often as, or more interesting than the display itself. I wish I had taken more pics at the Georgia Aquarium, specifically of their protein skimmer room, and pump room for their Ocean Voyager tank (6.3 million gal.). It was almost unbelievable. Those 6" swing check valves in your pic are $2K/each, alone

That business you have going on at the zoo is nothing to balk at! I was/am amazed at everything you all had going on there.

I was especially jealous of those kids you had there that got to work with you all FOR SCHOOL! if I had had that oppourtunity when I was their age. MAN! don't know how lucky they got it.
