So I just got a whole bunch of new frags and they are almost all mounted on frag plugs. I've got them scattered all across my sandbed at the moment. My question is how do you guys get them up on the rocks? I'd rather have all this stuff growing on my rocks but do I take them off the plug and try to glue it to my liverock or drill a hole in the rock or break up the plug and glue the whole thing to the rock etc?

I usually just break off the bottom of the frag plug and glue it to the rock, once the coral encrusts over the plug you cant tell. BTW I had to chuckle since I am in the same situation, I have frags laying all around I am currently setting up a frag tank so my display will clean up.

Justin, it kind of depends. If I have like a chalice coral of zoa I usually just take, a pliers or bone cutters and cut the "plug" part of the disc and put some thick (gel) super glue blob on the bottom of the disc then place it on the rock you want it on and hold it for about 10 seconds and let it go and they usually stay put. The coral itself will grow over the plug and you won't see it anymore

If i have like an acan coral that usually has a skeleton I break it of the frag plug and glue it directly to the rock. If I have an SPS that has not encrusted to the rock I break it off and direct glue to the rock as well. Good luck!
